Wa Alaykum Salaam, Thank you for the comment. I agree that many of our problems are self-inflicted, and we wanted to discuss that more towards the end of the interview. My hope was to go into more detail how Islam can help resolve some of these self-inflicted wounds we suffer from. For instance, maintaining chastity, staying away from alcoholic drinks, and strong family units. Unfortunately, Bilal was on a strict time limit and we did not have the time to go there. I also agree that Bilal should have been more balanced regarding how we discuss the issues Muslims in other countries face. This is something he and I have disagreed on for some time.

Assalam Alaikum, I heard the Bilal Stroud interview. He said many things that I can agree with. However, I disagree with his comments that do not embrace one umah. I believe his comments to be a bit divisive. I am an African American and stand in full support of brothers and sisters in various countries worldwide. Many challenges that the black community faces are in part brought on by the black community. We promote entertainment media that is negative and puts black men down.
